10-Day MBA in Real Estate

If you’ve read my newsletter for a little bit you know I got my Masters degree in International Real Estate. Which of course is not cheap, nor is it super fast. Even though I often challenge the tradition you have to go to college it has been of massive value for me.

BUT! Outside of books and masterminds the most massive learning tool I’ve used in my life is YouTube. I’d bet YouTube has made many people millionaires from using their platform to learn things.

I wanted to come up with a 10-day YouTube MBA series on Real Estate, in fact you could binge watch them all in a day if you wanted to go down a rabbit hole. There are 2 videos per topic because I’ve found the more insights on a single topic the more depth I begin to get. Of course you can go down each topic independently and I’d encourage you to take notes and learn more on any topic that blows your hair back.

Good luck and I can guarantee it will be cheaper than a real MBA

Day 1. Real Estate Market Analysis

There are a ton of videos on this topic. Bigger Pockets has a pretty robust catalog of videos as well. But, here a couple that I thought be of value on the topic

Day 2. Real Estate Finance

How do you buy a property with little or no money is almost always the first question I get from new investors. It's challenging but it's possible but you have to understand how the process works first.

Day 3. Real Estate Law & Taxes

The majority of millionaires are made through owning real estate. The reason this is the case is it often times is the most tax efficient investment that exist in the US. If you ever deep dive into the tax codes and laws they are significantly beneficial to those that own real estate and that is why most high income earners who are being taxed to death start to invest into real estate to offset their taxes. This is an attorney we have used in the passed and there are lots of great resources but consider KKOS if you are looking to invest with your IRA or need legal counsel for an investment.

 Day 4. Real Estate Development

Development is when you build or redevelop a property. This is when a property now has a higher and better use. Farm land being turned into a subdivision of new homes. An old warehouse converted into loft apartments

Day 5. Building a Team in Real Estate

Ever thought about how great Brock Purdy would be if he didn't have an offensive line? He'd suck and never win a game. Same goes for real estate a great team is vital. It's key! Going it alone is tough, but with the right crew, you're set for success.

Day 6. Taxation in Real Estate

 Taxes are pretty massive and one of the major reasons many people get started into real estate. Almost all the the wealth of the world ends up in Real Estate. If you make billions in a tech company you'll see that many of those tech giants go and buy real estate. Bill Gates with farmland, Larry Ellison with almost an entire Hawaiian island. If you don't like taxes learn to own real estate.

Day 9. International Real Estate Markets

International Real Estate Markets, an exciting and diverse area of real estate investment. This day is dedicated to understanding the benefits and strategies of owning and finding real estate in various countries around the globe

Day 10. Getting Started and Terms Explained

I know its the last day of the program but this one is important none the less. Real Estate is like a foreign language at times, even going from residential to commercial, and different categories of real estate use different terms or calculations. Doors, Units, Pads, Keys, IRRs, ARV it can get confusing quickly even if you have been in the space your whole life. Don't be afraid to ask when you hear something you don't understand. But most import YouTube is a great place to learn terms and have them explained to you in the comfort of your own home.

Congratulations!! You’ve done it you can print a piece of paper if you want but you’ve learn more in 10 days than most people will learn in a year of school.
